Which pool deck material stays coolest?
Light-coloured, low-density materials stay coolest. Travertine is known for remaining comfortable underfoot in direct sun, and light broom-finished concrete or pale porcelain perform reasonably well. Dark, dense surfaces - including dark porcelain and deeply pigmented concrete - get uncomfortably hot in Mississippi summer sun.
